Now a recognised expert in shredding technologies for the alternative fuel production industry, Marcus has played an active role in some of the country’s most exciting waste to energy and biomass projects. His contacts and knowledge of the wider supply chain mean he is ideally placed to not just advise on the shredding machinery itself, but also the financing, design and cost reductions of the complete waste to energy solution.
His commitment to delivering high quality projects that achieve maximum profitability for clients now cascade’s throughout the entire UNTHA UK team, in Marcus’ role as managing director. With a strong sales focus, he is also responsible for the day-to-day running of the company, the implementation of ever-more efficient processes and procedures, and the ongoing development of this incredibly talented team.

Driven by his attention to detail and a strong work ethic, Brendan is passionate about building lasting relationships and is a valuable asset when it comes to liaising with customers, supporting colleagues, and embedding himself within the UNTHA UK team.

Aftersales Manager
Andy has a varied role at UNTHA UK , given the assorted nature of existing client applications and the number of diverse new enquiries that the team is currently working on.
An integral member of the team, Andy is responsible for spare parts sales, enquiries and bookings for the exciting new test centre, waste shredder demonstrations, machinery servicing and the overall maintenance of UNTHA UK’s North Yorkshire engineering hub.
Sales Office Manager
Usually the first point of contact for incoming enquiries, Sarah is the glue that holds the sales team together. She coordinates all new requests for information, asking initial fact-finding questions that enable every prospective customer to reach the UNTHA UK colleague best placed to help them.
Responsible also for managing shredder proposals, Sarah oversees the pipelines for all sales colleagues, as well as CRM management and reporting, to ensure data successfully underpins every stage of the customer journey. The result? Salespeople are efficient and effective, and clients are happy from even their earliest point of contact. Sarah is organised, friendly, enthusiastic, and – most importantly – has everything covered.
Technical Lead
A member of UNTHA UK’s engineering team for over a decade, Ben is one of the most well-known faces in the entire company. He has played a pivotal role in the commissioning, service and maintenance of our shredders during this time, and with almost 20 years’ mechanical and electrical experience in total, his knowledge is vast.
So, coupled with his likeable, ‘can do’ attitude, and commitment to customer and colleague satisfaction alike, there really is no better candidate for the role of technical lead. He is a fantastic communicator, has a brilliant knack for keeping cool under pressure, and knows everything about how to optimise UNTHA shredders for maximum ROI.
Service Engineer
Having worked in the waste industry for more than 25 years, Calum is one of our most experienced service engineers. Qualified in both the electrical and mechanical disciplines, he has also run, maintained and managed waste and recycling sites throughout the UK. This operational, front-line knowledge – and honest, problem-solving approach to engineering – means he is an instant hit with customers large and small.
Originally from Italy, Qaiser spent 24 years travelling the world to install and commission shredding technology, for customers large and small. But now that he calls the UK home, he has brought his wealth of mechanical and electrical expertise to UNTHA. Based in the Midlands, he is ideally located to work on sites the length and breadth of the country, and will provide an extra – and very talented – pair of hands for our busy team.
Mack Theakston brings plenty of technical expertise to his role as service engineer at UNTHA UK, drawing from hands-on experience in installations, repairs, and diagnostics of large beam saws, stacking systems, robots, and shredders. Having worked around the world for IMA Schelling UK, Mack’s knowledge spans a diverse range of machinery and brands, giving him a solid foundation for troubleshooting and optimising shredder performance.
Mack first became familiar with UNTHA during a visit to our HQ in Austria with a previous employer, an experience that inspired his enthusiasm for our high-performance shredding technology. In his role, Mack’s background in global machinery servicing enables him to ensure our equipment operates safely and efficiently, providing valuable support to our clients.
Keen to join the ranks of a world-leading shredder specialist, Mark became part of the UNTHA engineering team in 2024. A seasoned mechanical fitter and service engineer, he boasts a range of experience maintaining heavy plant machinery — including balers, compactors, crushers, screeners, and other processing plants — both in the UK and overseas.
From farming and quarrying to mineral processing, cement, biomass, recycling, and more, he’s no stranger to niche, and increasingly complex, sectors. He also revels in a challenge. So, when it comes to improving the reliability and efficiency of our customers’ machinery, you’ll find Mark in his element.
As well as providing service, repair, and installation support for our full product range, he offers strategic advice to keep shredders running at peak performance.
Applications Engineer
With more than a decade of experience in the wood shredding industry, Dave has a wealth of waste management and sustainable energy knowledge. He came to UNTHA already familiar with the operation of our technology, so is well equipped to help organisations explore the perfect machine for their needs – often way before they become a customer.
A natural problem solver, there’s no waste challenge too complex for Dave. He takes the lead on UNTHA UK’s shredder trials, while supporting the wider engineering team through the commissioning and ongoing maintenance phases of our shredders’ lifecycles.
Aftersales Lead
Having joined UNTHA from a compressed air specialist, Julie is all too familiar with the complex world of waste and recycling. And it is this area of engineering – plus her passion for delivering efficient customer solutions long after a shredder is commissioned – which means she’s the ‘go to’ colleague for aftersales support.
From spare and wear parts sales, to preventative maintenance packages, operator training, and much more, she is always on the other end of the phone or email for enquiries large and small. But with an extremely customer-facing role she’s no stranger to site visits either. Her goal is to deliver a consistently outstanding UNTHA experience, whether you’ve had one of our shredders for ten weeks or ten years!
Warehouse Supervisor
Following 18 years’ working in the food industry, Alan fancied a new challenge at the same time that our warehouse team continued to expand! He is therefore a welcome addition to this part of our aftersales function.
As a crucial support to UNTHA UK’s service manager Andy, Alan assists with spare and wear parts enquiries, deliveries and stock-taking; helps customer undertake trials at our shredder test centre; and provides general support for our team of nationwide engineers. This is the first time he’s worked in the world of waste and recycling, but he has quickly become a much-needed member of the team!
Sales and Marketing Administrator
Hannah Wray began her administrative career as an apprentice, before honing her skills at a reputable domestic and commercial cleaning firm as a bookings administrator. Here, she gained valuable experience which paved the way for a seamless progression to UNTHA UK.
Attracted by the opportunity to apply her existing knowledge in a new environment, Hannah supports the sales and marketing team — assisting with global communications initiatives, aiding the sales function, and ensuring office operations run smoothly. Armed with a confident and friendly manner — coupled with her strong administrative background — Hannah is well-equipped to contribute to the continued success of our team.
Business & Finance Operations Assistant
Before entering the world of shredding, Olivia spent three years at a local plumbing company as its finance administrator, where she gained the skills and experience she now applies to her position as business and finance operations assistant at UNTHA UK.
Attracted by the variety this role offers, she’s now responsible for supporting all departments – especially accounts – and handling general office administration. Her dedication and adaptability make her a valued member of the UNTHA UK team.
Accounts Coordinator
Having originally joined UNTHA UK in a temporary position, we quickly realised that Zoe had to become a permanent member of the team. She has worked in the finance function for 15 years – in areas as diverse as the charity sector through to drinks vending – and therefore has a full breadth of skills spanning book-keeping, management accounts and more.
Having been a finance manager in her previous role, she can communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels in a business, and helps keep our finance operations running like clockwork, from the processing of sales & purchase invoices to the reconciliation of staff expenses, liaison with suppliers and general day-to-day running of accounts.
Project and Installation Coordinator
David is an experienced project coordinator with a background in various engineering industries. He builds strong relationships with clients, contractors, and engineers across UNTHA UK and Austria, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. Known for his attention to detail and reliability, he manages logistics, prepares RAMS, issues work permits, and conducts site visits to prevent delays.
